Howard County

Raining again. Kind of flew through this one on the way to Rochester.

Floyd County

It was raining when we hit Charles City so we only snapped a few. Love the font!

Butler County

Allison was very excited to find a town named after her. Too bad about the courthouse though.

Wright County

Another pretty good movie theatre.

Mitchell County

Mitchell county recently rebuild their courthouse but kept the top of the old one. They also had a fantastic movie theatre.

They actually have a tombstone for the old courthouse

Hey counties, if you have to rebuild at least do it right like Mitchell

This is an architectural marvel (I'm serious)

Davis County

Davis Country is conveniently on our way back from the Ozarks. Nice little town square.

They have a model of the Courthouse inside the Courthouse

Woodbury County

Sioux City in Woodbury County is home to what is one of my favorite courthouses. Done in the Prairie style it is a national historic landmark. White a little baroque for prairie style the stonework is amazing. We also visited the Sergeant Floyd Monument in honor of Charles Floyd who died while on expedition with Lewis and Clark.

Overlooking the Missouri where Charles Floyd died

A little homoerotic for Steve King's district don't you think?

Sac County

So apparently Sac City has the 2nd largest popcorn ball in the world. Which I would have taken a picture of BUT IT WAS CLOSED!!!! We will be back for you popcorn ball, as god as my witness!

Here we are with NO POPCORN!!!

no popcorn here either

Calhoun County

Honestly there wasn't much going on in Calhoun county seat Rockwell City when we visited. It does contain a Carnegie Library which is kind of cool. Andrew Carnegie would build these for any town that provided the land and people to staff them. I'm not sure if it's still operational.

Greene County

Jefferson in Greene County has this cool tower. Unfortunately it wasn't open when we were there.

This one goes out to Daryl and Lindsey, my brother & sister in law
